On Tuesday 6th October 2009, following an East & Mid Surrey CAMRA Branch meeting, Ken Proctor, the landlord of the Surrey Oaks, was presented with TWO CAMRA awards. The Surrey Oaks was voted CAMRA East & Mid Surrey Branch Pub of the Year 2009 and THEN CAMRA Surrey Pub of the Year 2009.
This is a fabulous double for our pub and a great recognition for all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes so that we can bring you a great choice of real ales. If you look at the photo below, you will see Oakleaf - Green Gold (4.3%), Ossett - Cherry Porter (4.5%) [so good it ran out on the night] and finally, Cairngorm - White Lady (4.7%). There were also another two hand pumps and the beers on those were Surrey Hills - Ranmore Ale (3.8%) [CAMRA award winning bitter] and Harveys - Sussex Best Bitter (4.0%). You'll have to try hard to find a better choice in any pub!
