Naff Christmas Presents Auction 2008 - Raises £376 for Charity

On Monday 14th January 2008, The Surrey Oaks held its 5th annual 'Naff Christmas Presents Auction'. All proceeds went to charity and this year we raised £376. This was once again split equally between the same two charities we supported last year, St. Catherine's Hospice and Tadworth Children's Trust.

So what were the lots? Well.... An amazing Christmas Cake (a lightish sponge version), made freshly the day before by Marion's Mum (cheating a bit we know). Then there was a secret present in a bag and Marcus bid furiously for this and won it. What was inside? A pair of naughty knickers! Somehow we can't imagine him in them. There was also a blue "Duck with a Di*k" (only the naffest presents here) and a yellow rubber chicken that when squeezed, forces out a clear rubber sack with an egg with a yoke and swirling white in it. Ummm... Moving swiftly on.... the Dark Star beer prize appeared again (that's a free pint of each Dark Star beer that The Surrey Oaks sells in 2008). Despite a few of us really bidding heavily for this, the final bid came from David and he should be a happy (or should we say a 'hoppy') chap in 2008.

Well that's all for this year and just remember that nothing that was auctioned this year can appear next year (unless of course you pay the £5 re-auction fee!).
