On Monday 9th January 2006, The Surrey Oaks held its 3rd annual 'Naff Christmas Presents Auction' and raised (just over) an amazing £520 with all proceeds going to charity. This years lucky charities were St Catherine's Hospice and Tadworth Children's Trust.
There were some really naff presents this year, but guess what... everything was sold! Martin brought along an electric egg boiler and very popular it proved too. There was a single polished stainless steel roof tile (what's that all about?), a bathtime 'duck water pistol shooting game', candles to die for and even a paddling pool (small)! Oh and don't forget the calendar girls calendar (well something similar....) which landlord Ken just had to have for himself!
Thanks to everyone who came along to support this event, it really was a lot of fun and all for a good cause.
Special thanks must also go to the Gottlieb Foundation and their very generous cheque for £250!
