On Saturday 24th January 2008, The Surrey Oaks hosted a Burns Night Supper.
This was a very popular evening with great food (look at the menu below) and we even had a beer with a real Burns Night theme, Harviestoun's Haggis Hunter, a light coloured ale, full of flavour with an ABV of 4.1%.
We were also treated to some facts about Robbie Burns: He was born in 1759, died 37 years later but wrote more than 400 songs, the most famous being Auld Lang Syne.
So what of the haggis? After a dance from Ken the landlord(!), he suffered as he always does, the wee beastie was stabbed with a steely knife!
