Community Pubs Week - Fun Time - Monday 18th Feb, 2008

On Monday 18th February 2008, The Surrey Oaks held a special event in support of CAMRA's initiative for Community Pubs Week. It is a sad reality that around 56 pubs are closing in Britain every month. It's CAMRA's hope that more pubs can become a part of the community and encourage people to get out and use their local pub. You may be surprised at what you find. More often than not the locals are very friendly and are only too happy to have a chat with you and maybe even buy you a drink. You may be amazed at just how much social life takes place at your local and it's very easy to get involved.... just turn up, have a drink and a chat.

So what did The Surrey Oaks do? Well, we held a music quiz, but not like any other you've been to before! The entire quiz was in the form of short musical introductions to various songs, TV programs, films and even animal sounds turned into short intros! Crazy but true and more to the point, a lot of fun.

There was a prize of six bottles of beer to the winners and this went to Bruce and Marion's team.
