On Thursday 25th January 2007, The Surrey Oaks held a Burns Night Supper. This was a really great evening and the food (compliments to Chris the chef) and beer were of a very high standard. On a personal note, the haggis was one of the best that I have ever tasted!
Anyway, as these pages needed something different, we decided to hold a caption competition. A great photo of Ken was taken while he was nearing the end of his Robbie Burns recital and the cuddly little haggis was about to meet its gruesome end. There were several amusing entries, but after careful consideration, Pete Spooner provided the winning caption. The next time he's in the Surrey Oaks, he gets TWO free pints of real ale (of his choice). Well done Pete. To see the winning caption, click on the image below:
