CAMRA declared May a Mild month! No that's not the weather, it's a type of ale, usually low in alcohol and dark(ish) in colour. This style of beer is becoming very difficult to find with many breweries' dropping it altogether. To buck the trend, The Surrey Oaks managed to sell a mild every day in May, a feat we also managed last year.
On Tuesday 12th May, the East & Mid Surrey Branch of CAMRA organised a Mild Social at The Surrey Oaks. Slightly surprisingly, there were two CAMRA Branches there and we broke our record for selling a 'nine' (72 pts) of beer! Yes, one 'nine' of mild was sold in less than two hours!
